Are there people who should not use Ova?


Do NOT use the Ova under the following circumstances:

  1. If you have a heart pacemaker or a heart rhythm problem
  2. If you have, or have had epilepsy
  3. On broken skin or if normal sensation is absent.

When should I use the Ova?

The Ova may be used whenever you experience or anticipate period pain. If you know that your period is due, the OVA can be used the day before in Mode C. Then, when your period starts, change to either Mode A or B.

When should I NOT use the Ova?

The Ova should NOT be used to mask or relieve undiagnosed pain. Ova is very effective at relieving period pain, but it is not a cure for whatever is causing your pain. If you have severe period pain, see a doctor for help understanding why your pain is especially bad.

How long do I need to use the Ova?

The Ova should be used for as long as you feel it necessary. You cannot use it too much.

Can I leave my Ova on overnight?

This is not recommended in case the unit or leadwire get caught up while you are asleep. In addition, the pads should be removed for a while every 24 hours to allow the skin to breathe. However, if you need relief from your period pain while you sleep, the Ova can be used if great care is taken to ensure that the unit and the lead wire are safely tucked away.

How long before I get relief?

Most women will get relief very quickly, usually well within 30 minutes. If you do not, try moving the pads slightly or try one of the other pad positioning areas. Everybody’s body is different so it might take you a few attempts to find what works best for you. Perseverance is likely to succeed, as very few women experience no pain relief at all.

How long will the relief last after switching off the Ova?

This varies from person to person. If you were using Mode C before switching off the Ova, the pain relief could last for up to several hours. However, if you were using either Mode A or B before switching off, the relief is unlikely to last very long if at all.

Which Mode shall I use?

Use all three and see which works best for you. Do not use the same mode all the time otherwise your body will accommodate and the relief will not be as effective.

Is my Ova safe?

Yes, but always follow the instructions.

Can I use my Ova for other types of pain?

The Ova has been developed specifically for period pain relief – it is not intended to be used to treat other pain and in any event should never be used to treat undiagnosed pain. What does Ova feel like?

The electrode pads are made of a soft, water-based gel, which feels comfortable on your skin.
The system sends gentle, stimulating pulses to the nerves near the site of your pain, interrupting the pain and making you feel better.

Do I need to buy anything else to use Ova?

The Ova includes everything you need. Each system includes:
· 1 Ova Stimulator
1 package of 4 Ova self-adhesive pads
1 lead
1 Ova User Manual
1 4.5 volt CR2025 Lithium Battery

How long do the pads last?

As a guide, the pads should last about 20 applications. The life of the pads is affected by the skin type of the user. The Ova pads are disposable and use an adhesive that will dry after prolonged usage or storage. Pads should be replaced when they lose their adhesive quality, or you sense a change in stimulation sensation. If you’re in doubt about the integrity of the pads, order fresh pads.

Is there a guarantee?

The Ova is warranted for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty refers to the unit only. It does not cover the electrode pads, lead wire or battery. This Warranty applies only if the unit has been used for its intended purpose and has not been damaged through misuse, accident or neglect and has not been modified or repaired by anyone other then TensCare or its authorised agents.

If a defect appears, return the unit to TensCare or its authorised agents, with your proof of purchase.
